Answers to common questions
We’ve compiled a list of answers to common questions.
- I’m planning a winter getaway, are your cabins open for business?
Yes! Enjoy the snowy mountains from the comfort of your own hot tub at The Moose. Cozy-up with a blanket and good book in one of our private lofts in the Elk. Or, gather with your family and friends in the spacious living room at the Pacific Yurt. One of our four luxury cabins are sure to meet your getaway needs.
- What family activities do you offer?
Once your family arrives at River Retreat Cabins, we guarantee that your kids will want to trade in their apps for a fishing pole or pair of hiking boots. In addition to becoming one with nature, we offer a spacious pavilion for rent ($125 for 50 people, $2 for each additional person), which sits adjacent to the Splash Pad, an above-ground water feature that provides hours of summer fun. The Splash Pad is open Memorial Day through Labor Day and is free for guests.
- How far are you from the nearest West Virgina towns?
River Retreat Cabins proves that you don’t have to drive cross-country to experience rustic relaxation at its finest. We are located approximately 9 miles from Elkins, 13 miles from Harman, and 23 miles from Canaan.
- Are there restaurants close to the cabins and campground?
You don’t even have to leave the picturesque surroundings of River Retreat Cabins to enjoy great eats. Bellas of Bowden is located within the campground and features great food, outstanding drinks, and a fun atmosphere. Call 304.630.7777 for specials and entertainment schedule. If burgers, dogs and hand-dipped ice cream cones are more your speed, try Riverside Eats & Treats, also located on the grounds.
